Welcome to McLaren Vale Primary School Outside School Hours Care.

McLaren Vale Primary School Out of School Hours Care offers care, learning, and fun for primary school age children before school, after school, on pupil free days, and during the school holidays.

We’re located between the main and junior primary buildings with a wonderful outlook on to the school oval and rolling hills. If you’re new to our service, please touch base with us or pop in and check us out!

Our service complies with the National Quality Framework for School Age Care in Australia and we follow the My Time, Our Place learning framework. We are registered with ACECQA by the McLaren Vale Primary School Council Inc.

Our goal is to create programmes that reflect the interests and needs of the children and families in our community. We like to think that children should have opportunities to investigate, find adventure, and be challenged all in a place that is just for them.

Enrolments and Bookings

In 2025 our service will begin using a new Child Care Subsidy System platform to manage your enrolment, bookings, accounts and our administration.

The platform is called Fully Booked and our service’s Family Site can be accessed here: https://mvpsoshc.fullybookedccms.com.au/family/login. Please register now!

Fully Booked will provide families a more streamlined experience using our service. You will be able to manage your own enrolment details, children’s health information, bookings, and more, without the need for paper forms and having to communicate with the OSHC office to action these details.

You can still communicate with the OSHC office, mind you! We will continue to provide the same support and service you are accustomed to.

Registering with Fully Booked is simple and common issues so far have been:

Updates may take the system a few minutes to process information

Fees: $16.00 per booking, before CCS

We serve nutritious breakfast options including, gourmet Vegemite and nuttelex on wholemeal toast, cinnamon fruit loaf, weetbix, cornflakes and other cereals approved by ‘Right Bite’ food and drink supply standards. Be quick, breakfast finishes at 8.00am. Children who come after this time will be offered one of the above-mentioned cereals or fruit.

We inspire healthy minds and bodies during our before school care program to help children begin their day well. You’ll find children kicking a footy or soccer ball on the oval, shooting hoops at the courts, or joining group games in the gym! Students will be offered a variety of games to choose from that our educators guide them through.

After School Care

3:05pm- 6:30pm, Monday to Friday during the school term

Fees: $26.00 per booking, before CCS

Whilst students in Years 2 and above sign in with an educator at OSHC, children from the junior primary building (Reception and year 1) are signed in and walked to OSHC as a group by educators. No child is left unaccounted for, not on our watch! It is very important that you contact the OSHC office to make a cancellation or report an absence, we will always follow up with a phone call to enquire about absent children.

Once grouped and accounted for at OSHC, all children are offered afternoon snack. Students are asked for suggestions to add to our weekly menu which range from cheese, dip, kabana and crackers on some afternoons with home-made options such as cornflake cookies or weetbix slice on other afternoons. Generally these are prepared the previous afternoon with students and educators. Afternoon snack is always accompanied by a fruit and salad platter. If there are any dietary considerations we should know about, please let us know or upload this information on your Fully Booked account!

Our programming is informed by the interests and needs of children and families and children can make choices about how they spend their time when at OSHC. We’re always encouraging children to play outside to make the most of our beautiful grounds and we offer plenty of craft, sewing, cooking and other indoor activities as well as opportunities for relaxation too.

Vacation Care and Student/Pupil Free Days

6:30am- 6:30pm, Monday to Friday during school holidays and student free days

Fees:
$60.00 per booking, before CCS for a ‘home-based day’
$68.00 per booking, before CCS for an ‘incursion’
$75.00 per booking, before CCS for an ‘excursion’

The school holidays are always a welcome change of pace for us at OSHC. The busy-ness of before and after school care calms down a tad and opportunities for quality time with children and programmes improves.

We’re often out and about on adventures visiting far flung places and the Fleurieu wonders that are close to home, and we enjoy planned school based activity providers too. The movies are always a hit as well as our regular winter stomps at Chookarloo, where we splash about in muddy puddles! For all excursions, please ensure your child is signed in no later than 8:30am.

We like to make sure that children are dressed well and are prepared for the activity and the weather, whether it is hot or cold. A change of clothes might be required, and always a hat and drink bottle. We offer children breakfast and an afternoon snack each day, but please remember to help your children pack their lunch and snacks just like they would for school. Please also remember to keep all medical information updated on Fully Booked and if your child/ren requires medication, please ensure this is also kept up-to-date.
