Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program

We are very proud and fortunate to be a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden school.  We have specialist kitchen and garden teachers leading a dynamic learning program in purpose built facilities.

Our Years 3-6 students are regularly involved in this fantastic learning program with Reception to Year 2 with a modified program, which gives our students opportunities to grow, harvest, prepare and share.

Students love kitchen and garden classes because they are fun, engaging and authentic learning experiences.

Pleasurable food education is about children experiencing the joy of diffing in the garden, picking fresh veggies, smelling and tasting the food they prepare, and sharing the experience with their classmates and helpers.

Students grow fresh, seasonal produce and use it to prepare nutritious, delicious food.

Students are given all the skills, experiences and the role modelling they need to learn to love their veggies and make healthier choices about what to cook and eat, for life.

This wonderful program relies on the ongoing help of our volunteers. If you are able to help in the garden or kitchen please let your child’s classroom teacher know.
